A fully local AI assistant built from scratch on personal hardware (M1 Mac Studio 64 GB + Ubuntu PC with RTX 3090). Features multi-model orchestration (Qwen3 30B A3B generalist, Llama 3.1 8B intent router, Qwen3-VL 4B vision), a three-layer memory system (LangMem + MongoDB semantic search), MCP server, voice I/O (Whisper STT + Supertonic TTS), ReAct research agents, and smart home, finance, and news connectors. Built with Python, LangChain, LangGraph, LangMem, Pydantic, Ollama, llama.cpp, MLX.

Schmarchive

A CLI photo archive organiser using a local VLM for image classification and near-duplicate evaluation, perceptual hashing, EXIF/GPS metadata extraction, and Nominatim reverse geocoding. Non-destructive deduplication workflow. Built with Python.

Detectrode

Industrial product recognition via small vision model fine-tuning. Fine-tuned a VLM on domain-specific imagery for accurate product detection in an industrial context. Built with nanoVLM and PyTorch.

Railpen

Primary engineer on an AI-augmented SDLC initiative (50% of role): built agents that actively scan ADO pipelines to validate Jira/PR/GitFlow adherence, surface stale repositories, detect vulnerabilities, and check code against Confluence standards. Agents run locally connecting to ADO, Jira, and Confluence, with automated pipeline trigger deployment in progress. Stack: Microsoft Foundry (Azure-hosted LLMs with custom system prompts), Copilot CLI.

Also SME for all front-office web applications, establishing UI/UX and frontend coding standards through a reusable theme, a shared Angular library, Azure Marketplace and VS Code extensions, and shared linting and formatting configuration. Notable projects: IBOR app with real-time portfolio data and trade-order capabilities; Risk Management, Rebalance, and Data Quality frameworks.

Worked on a commercial property valuation UI with rich formatting, document uploads, side-by-side comparisons, commenting, and market-data integration for report generation in Word and PDF. The product helped surveyors automate workflows that previously took months.

Developed TinyMCE plugins, contributed to the Node/Hapi backend, and built processes around AWS SQS. I was also involved with Auth0 authentication and a custom authorisation suite.
